Environment Explorations

Trying out an awesome technique in Photoshop that Tom Scholes taught us in one of his workshops. Basically, it's creating a depth map using only black and white values and then going to 3D-->New Mesh from Gray Scale-->Plane or any other surface. This technique allows you to explore ideas quickly and not get discouraged by complex 3D programs which take a long time to learn.

Trying to get better at using more saturated colors in landscapes. I couldn't get the colors right for the longest time so this one ended up taking about an hour.

Saw an awesome picture of my friend Krystal on facebook and couldn't help but do a quick speedpaint to practice some naturalistic colors. This was capped off at 30 mins.
