Colors!

These are environment color studies that I'm working on for a not-for-profit organization called Harassmap, which is located in Egypt. I've been volunteering with another not-for-profit organization called Peacegeeks and through them I started working on this animation project for Harassmap. I've done the character designing and the environment designs. We're nearing completion so I've got to start finishing these paintings up. Any critique/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Day 21

Oh how I love the pencil. I never used to use it but I just recently started drawing with it and it is simply amazing. I love the line variations and the sheer simplicity of the tool.

Father's Day WIP

So I gave my dad a card on father's day with this drawing on it. He really liked it and asked if I could also make him a print so that he could put it in his office. So I started to paint the drawing a bit more and this is the work in progress so far. He's supposed be "Realtor-Man" in this drawing and "Use your common sense" is what my dad usually says to me so I thought that I'd throw it in there.

Day 20....at the ZOO!

So some friends and I went to the Zoo in Langley to do some life drawing. It was really difficult because the animals kept moving but it was a great challenge. Also, animal anatomy looks really cool and I really need to study it. Oh and the last drawing is just something that I remembered from yesterdays life drawing.

Today's study from imagination. I like the results but I definitely need more control over colors and overall anatomy. Need to hit the books tomorrow.

Day 17

Super tired today from RUSH Vancouver so body not in the mood for drawing.

Day 16

Focused on drawing heads for today's study. Reference was used for the big one on the left, the line drawing one and the girl with the orange hair. The other two were just some experiments to try new processes.

Took about an hour. Tried to work out a good sense of depth and value.

Day 15

Ahhh the great feeling of finally learning the muscles of the hand. Feels good.

Day 14

Tried drawing some hands and failed miserably. Definitely need to practice those.

day 13

Focused on proportions today. Haven't really studied it in the book yet but I wanted to see what I could do prior to learning the correct proportions. Also, tried painting the front leg from the leg studies I did a couple of days back.

day 12

 Finally got to do some good ol' life drawing. So much fun but so tiring. Next time I definitely need to bring some food.
