Quick arm study.

For today's drawings, I tried to incorporate the figure into a scene. Kinda like how I've been doing in the last couple of days with the photographs but this time making up everything myself. I still need quite a bit of work but I think this is a pretty decent sketch.

This is about 1 hour in.

Another photo study, this time I worked up the details and paid close attention to the colors. I still find it difficult to get some colors but I'm happy with what I have so far. I'll just do more of these photo studies and eventually I'll be the master of coloooooor :D

Day 48 :D

Ahhh it feels so good to finally sit down and paint. For the last couple of days I haven't gotten the chance to really paint anything so today I decided to do a photo study. I didn't color pick at all this time and am really happy that I didn't. I really need to do more of these because I learned so much about color and how to shade forms. The lighting was especially hard but after a while I started to piece it together. This entire study session took about an hour.

More practice with inks.

Haven't touched the inks for quite a while so today's drawing was just to try out that medium. I photocopied some older anatomical sketches and inked right on top of them with a brush. I definitely need to practice with inks and brush control.
