Really cool looking! They seem very difficult as a medium, how do you go about starting each pose? Are you trying to block in shadows or is it one of those less logic approaches?
It's a mixture of both actually because I'm looking for shadows to block down but meanwhile I just let my hand do random things according to the figure. I simply start from a part of the figure that I like and then create some gesture lines and go from there. Most of these are just one continuous line, that's why they have that look to them. However, when I can't capture the entire figure in the initial line, I do tweak areas by adding and subtracting shapes. As for the coloring, I keep my brush at about 80 percent opacity so that I can quickly cover the selection and then add darker areas as the color overlaps.
